Royal Challengers Bangalore lost three quick wickets after Chris Gayle provided the team a flying start in their Indian Premier League match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Bengaluru.

Gayle scored 38 off just 12 balls before losing his wicket to Brett Lee. Bangalore have to get 102 in 13 overs under the D/L method.

The match was reduced to 13 overs a side contest after a rain interruption.

Gayle hit Brett lee for four boundaries in the first over. His new opening partner Luke Pomersbach also got into the act by smashing Jaydev Unadkat for a boundary off his very first ball. Unadkat further suffered at the hands of Gayle as he was hit for two sixes and a boundary.

Gayle continued to torment the Australian pacer hitting him for a boundary before Lee got the better of him.

Pomersbach hit Kallis for a boundary but was then caught by Unadkat.

Bangalore skipper Kohli was caught behind by Boucher off Kallis for 15.

Mohammed Kaif and AB de Villiers are at the crease with the required rate under six runs an over.
