Gautam Gambhir missed on a deserving century as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) reach 190 for four in their allotted 20 overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2012 match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday.

The KKR skipper pulverised the Bangalore bowlers from the word go after winning the toss and electing to bat.

Gambhir and McCullum got the home to team off to a flyer smashing boundaries at regular intervals.

The left-hander was the more aggressive of the two as they went on accumulating runs at will.

Daniel Vettori got the first breakthrough for the visitors cleaning up McCullum after the Kiwi opener had smashed the left-arm spinner for boundaries off earlier two deliveries.

Gambhir was joined by Jacques Kallis as the duo hammered the hapless Bangalore bowlers to all parts of the park.

The KKR skipper looked in a menacing mood as smashed two six off Harshal Patel in the 16th over before getting out to Zaheer Khan seven short of a deserving century.

Brief Scores: KKR 190 for 4 in 20 overs (Gautam Gambhir 93, Brendon McCullum 43; R Vinay Kumar 2 for 31) vs RCB
