Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Ajay Singh alleged that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan‘s children were travelling by air to watch Indian Premier League matches even as the CM was criticising the cricket league.
“On one hand Chouhan was saying that IPL matches would not be allowed to be held in the state, on the other, he was sending his children to watch IPL matches,” Singh said.
Instead of worrying about IPL, he should think of people living below the poverty line and arrange for food and other necessities for them, Singh said.
Chouhan had earlier termed the Indian Premier League as “shameful” and said his government would not allow IPL matches to be held in the state.
Referring to a series of recent controversies that have hit the IPL, he had said an iconic player like Sachin Tendulkar should not play in the IPL.
He had also demanded a CBI probe into allegations of spot fixing and molestation at a hotel in Delhi. (PTI)
