IPL 2012: Subramaniam Badrinath admires Mike Hussey and Lance Armstrong

Chennai Super Kings batsman Subramaniam Badrinath said that Mike Hussey is his favorite sports personality and admires him a lot. The Chennai batsman similar to Hussey is a solid middle-order batsman who looks to anchor the team s batting.

Among other favorite personalities, Badrinath mentioned ace tennis star Rafael Nada, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar. He also referred to Lance Armstrong as one of the inspirational sportsperson.

Recalling his memorable moments in cricket, Badrinath said, “A maiden call for the Indian side is my favorite moment, while I was extremely disappointed when I was dismissed against at Eden Gardens against South Africa.” He also added that, batting at his home-ground has always been a special feeling, Speaking about his favorite matches he mentions the second Ashes test in 2005 in England, when the match went down to a thrilling two runs win for the home side.

Recollecting his childhood memories, Badrinath said he still cherishes holding the bat for the first time at the age of seven and playing with a broken rubber ball.

The middle-order batsman also added saying,” I learnt a lot from his father, and whenever I speak to youngsters, I always make it clear that, you ll get only as much as you ve given.”

However Badrinath admits that even though he s one of the calm and patient batsman on the field, he does have an issue with his temper off the field.

Badrinath has scored 1243 runs in the 70 Indian Premier League (IPL) matches he has played so far and has performed consistently in the domestic circuit with 28 first class hundreds to his name.

The Chennai Super Kings batsman said,” The most common question I m asked by media is, whether I am frustrated for constantly being ignored for the national side.”

On a candid note the Tamil-Nadu batsman declared Rajnikant and Aamir Khan amongst his favorite actors while he rates Kajol ahead of other actresses. He also reveals that he would love to go on a dinner with Katrina Kaif.

“Apart from cricket I love Watching golf, music and travelling, classic movies, spending time with family. However I regret not being able to spend time with my daughter Daksha,” he said to Deccan Chronicle.

Badrinath was apprehensive about his future plans by saying, he s doesn t believe in having set plans for years to come but prefers to accept what he gets. He concluded on a positive note that he wishes to be remembered as a player who gave his 100% for the game.
