The result of the matches from hereon will have an impact on multiple teams and their chances to qualify for the play offs. Exciting times ahead…

SRH 127/2  | Overs 18 |  Dhawan 73*, Sammy 1* (Sunrisers Hyderabad win by seven wickets)

Its wthe fourth victory in four home games for the Sunrisers Hyderabad! Shikhar Dhawan scores his second fifty in three games and guides his team home in a low-scoring chase against the star-studded Mumbai Indians. Look away if you are a Mumbai Indians fan. The game has been conceded but the bigger worry is the injury to Kieron Pollard.

SRH 127/2  | Overs 17 |  Dhawan 72*,  Vihari 25*

Vihari gives Dhawan some time to relax at the non-strikers’ end as he goes down on one knee and frees his arms to score a boundary through the off side. The duo have added an unbeaten stand of 74 from just 54 deliveries.

SRH 119/2  | Overs 16 |  Dhawan 71*,  Vihari 18*

Harbhajan Singh starts with a no ball but Vihari manages just a single off the free hit delivery. However, Dhawan makes up for it with a boundary through fine leg. 13 runs come from the over.

SRH 106/2  | Overs 15 |  Dhawan 62*,  Vihari 15*

Shikhar Dhawan is running away with this chase. Mitchell Johnson comes back and bowls a loosener first up and Dhawan slams it over backward point for a boundary. Dhawan ends the over with another boundary to take 12 runs from the over. Hyderabad go past the 100-run mark and need just 24 runs from the last five overs

SRH 94/2  | Overs 14 |  Dhawan 51*,  Vihari 14*

Shikhar Dhawan brings up his second half-century in his third match as he came down the track and launched Lasith Malinga over the cover. Ten vital runs come from the over. The home side needs 36 from as many balls to register their fourth home win this season.

SRH 84/2  | Overs 13 |  Dhawan 39*,  Vihari 11*

Ojha finishes his spell with a good tight over. He gives just five runs to finish with figures of none for 18. The Sunrisers need 46 runs from the last seven overs.

SRH 79/2  | Overs 12 |  Dhawan 39*,  Vihari 11*

Dwayne Smith comes into the attack and offers some widhthe to Shikhar Dhawan who accepts it gladly to cut the ball to the boundary through backward point. Vihari also gets into the act as he slams one over the mid-wicket fielder to score his first boundary. Dhawan ends the over with another boundary. A good over for the home side as they collect 15 runs from it.

SRH 64/2  | Overs 11 |  Dhawan 30*,  Vihari 5*

Pragyan Ojha comes agonisingly close to clean bowl Shikhar Dhawan who tries to play a sweep shot and misses the ball competely.  A good over from Ojha in the end, giving just three runs away. Mumbai are stifling Hyderabad batsmen here as the asking rate is slowly climbing. Do we have another low-scoring thrillers on the cards?

SRH 61/2  | Overs 10 |  Dhawan 29*,  Vihari 3*

Rohit Sharma brings himself on to bowl for the first time in IPL 2013! He has seen the ball turn a bit and has decided to turn his arm over as Mumbai seek another wicket to peg the Sunrisers back. Dhawan and Vihari take five singles to take the total to 61 for two at the half-way stage.

SRH 56/2  | Overs 9 |  Dhawan 27*,  Vihari 1*

A good tight over from Ojha after Sangakkara fell in the previous over. Hanuma Vihari walked out to join Dhawan and the duo managed only 3 runs. Could Mumbai stage a comeback following Sangakkara’s wicket?

SRH 53/2  | Overs 8 |  Dhawan 25*  OUT!  Sangakkara 21 (21)

Soft dismissal for Sangakkara! Just when he was starting to look good he plays a loose shot to give a simple catch to Harbhajan off his own bowling. This came after Dhawan came down the track to lift the ball over the cover boundary for a six.

SRH 43/1  | Overs 7 |  Dhawan 19*,  Sangakkara 17*

The Sunrisers have started well despite losing Akshath Reddy early! Pragyan Ojha bowls the final over of the power play and Dhawan cuts the second ball to the boundary. Ojha gives away just three runs from the rest of the over.

SRH 36/1  | Overs 6 |  Dhawan 12*,  Sangakkara 17*

Sangakkara punishes Harbhajan Singh for bowling two short deliveries.  After a good first over, Harbhajan has erred in line and has faced the brunt. He gets away with another short delivery in the fourth ball as Shikhar Dhawan cuts the ball straight to point. Dwayne Smith meanwhile, almost pulls off a blinder-of-a-catch as the ball just about sails past him at covers. 11 runs come from the over.

SRH 25/1  | Overs 5 |  Dhawan 10*,  Sangakkara 8*

Sangakkara welcomes Lasith Malinga with a beautifully timed boundary through the mid-wicket. Sangakkara almost gets another boundary through covers but a magnificant effort in the filed from Ambati Rayudu saves a certain boundary. Jonty Rhodes will have a smile on his face. The over fetches six runs

SRH 19/1  | Overs 4 |  Dhawan 10*,  Sangakkara 3*

A good start for Harbhajan Singh as the pitch seems to have something for the spinners. Its hard to recollect when Harbhajan spun the ball so much last time. Anyway, he concedes just one run.

SRH 19/1  | Overs 3 |  Dhawan 10*,  Sangakkara 2*  OUT!  Akshath Reddy 7 (9)

Mitchell Jonhson provides the first breakthrough and Akshath Reddy fails again! Johnson takes the pace off the ball and Akshath goes after it, only to give a simple catch to Pollard at covers. Misery for Mumbai as Sachin Tendulkar is seen jogging off the field holding his left wrist. Meanwhile, another good over from Mitchell Johnson comes to an end. Just three runs and a wicket off it.

SRH 16/0  | Overs 2 | Akshath Reddy 7*, Dhawan 9*

Rohit Sharma brings in Dhawal Kulkarni to share the new ball with Mitchell Johnson. Kulkarni bowls a juicy over pitched deliver that is well driven through the covers by Dhawan. Hyderabad live dangerously as they pinch a couple of singles after hitting the ball to Kieron Pollard at point. He takse a shy at the stumps and misses on both ocassions. Dhawan ends the over with a short through backward point to take the score to 16 for no loss in two overs.

SRH 6/0  | Overs 1 | Akshath Reddy 6*, Dhawan 0*

Mitchell Johnson starts off with four dot deliveries before adding a few extra miles to his fifth delivery and hitting the ball short. The ball sails over the wicketkeeper’s head for a boundary.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad have done exceedingly well to restrict the Mumbai Indians to a low total on a wicket that looks very flat and is expected to get slower as the day progresses. The wicket has seen low totals being defended before on three ocassions, all by the home side. Looking at the number of low-scoring thrillers in the tournament so far, Kumar Sangakkara & Co. will have enough reasons to believe that well begun is only half done.

MI 129/4 | Overs 20  | Pollard 7*, Rayudu 21*

16 runs off the final over! Perera starts the final over with a waist-height no ball but Pollard’s fight continued!  Rayudu scored two back-to-back boundaries to give Mumbai a breather. The first was over the deep cover while the second over the third man fielder who was brought up inside the circle. A struggling Pollard scores the first boundary of his shaky innings in the last ball of the over. 16 runs come from the last over but Mumbai can only manage 129 for four in 20 overs.

MI 113/4 | Overs 19 | Pollard 9*, Rayudu 24*

Dale Steyn bowls the penultimate over and concedes five runs .Steyn has no room to give away to Pollard and Rayudu as they endured another tough over. He attacks by bringing his third man and fine leg inside the circle and contined to strangle the batsmen at the crease. He even gets a close call off the final delivery. Just five singles off the over.

MI 108/4 | Overs 18 | Pollard 7*, Rayudu 21*

Mumbai continue to struggle with the bat. Perera returns to concede eight runs in the over after Rayudu picked up the slower one in the second delivery to get a boundary off it. The rest of the over fetched four singles.

MI 100/4 | Overs 17 | Pollard 5*, Rayudu 15*

Amit Mishra returns for his final over and starts with a wrong ‘un which Pollard fails to read. He looks for the big heave but the ball beats the bat and goes to the wicket keeper. Mishra teases the big West Indian with the next delivery that turns away from him and beats the bat again. Ambati Rayudu steps out to score a couple of runs but Mishra does well to concede just five runs to bring up Mumbai Indians’ 100.  Mishra finishes with two for 24.

MI 95/4 | Overs 16 | Pollard 4*, Rayudu 11*

Dale Steyn has not had the most effective time with the ball. He bowls a poor short delivery and gets the treatment from Ambati Rayudu. He bowls all six deliveries over 140 kmph and gives away six runs from the over.

MI 89/4 | Overs 15 | Pollard 3*, Rayudu 6*

Ishant Sharma ends an outstanding spell with another tight over. He concedes just five to finish figures of two for 15.

MI 84/4 | Overs 14 | Pollard 2*, Rayudu 2*

Another tight over that fetches only four runs. The Sunrisers will be mighty pleased with the control they are having over this game. Mumbai Indians need a move on and have two worthy batsmen in the middle for it.

MI 80/4 | Overs 13 | Pollard 1* OUT! Rohit Sharma 22 (22) Dwayne Smith 38 (40)

Amit Mishra strikes twice as Ishant Sharma holds onto a catch in the deep this time! Its the prized wicket of Rohit Sharma! Ishant is relieved and so is Amit Mishra. Mishra gets lucky with the second wicket of the over as the ball hits Dwayne Smith’s glove before getting to his pads but the umpire raised the finger. Mishra will take that as he becomes the highest wicket taker in IPL history with 90 wickets.

MI 74/2 | Overs 12 | Smith 34*, Rohit Sharma 22*

Karan Sharma is into the attack for his fourth over. His faster leg spinners through a hurried bowling action have been tricky. He concedes five runs to finish with no wicket for 25 runs from his four overs.

MI 69/2 | Overs 11 | Smith 32*, Rohit Sharma 19*

Ishant Sharma makes a hash of a simple catching opportunity! Worse, he guides it to a six! Dwayne Smith launches Amit Mishra but doesn’t get enough, or so it seemed. It should have been easily taken but Sharma fails to judge it. Ishant needs to watch Kieron Pollard’s effort at the boundary line for some inspiration

MI 60/2 | Overs 10 | Smith 25*, Rohit Sharma 17*

Karan Sharma bowls his third over and almost gets the better of Rohit Sharma. He bowsl a length delivery and Rohit looks to play it on the leg side. The ball turns and gets the outside edge but not high enough for Sangakkara to latch onto it. Seven runs come from the over as Mumbai reach 60 for two at the half-way stage.

MI 53/2 | Overs 9 | Smith 24*, Rohit Sharma 11*

Kumar Sangakkara brings on his seasoned campaigner Amit Mishra into the attack and he begins well. Just four singles from it.

MI 49/2 | Overs 8 | Smith 22*, Rohit Sharma 9*

Karan Sharma is back for his second over and Dwayne Smith scores a boundary off him. The over fetches eight runs. Mumbai Indians reach 49 for two in eight overs.

MI 41/2 | Overs 7 | Smith 16*, Rohit Sharma 8*

Ishant Sharma is brought back for his third over. He has had a good day (despite a no ball and a six off the free hit delivery). He gives nothing away to Smith who cannot do much beyond defending and letting the ball go. Just one run from the over. It’s 42 for two.

MI 41/2 | Overs 6 | Smith 15*, Rohit Sharma 8*

Rohit Sharma’s elegance at display! Thisara Perera gives a bit of width and Roht Sharma latches onto it to play it through point for a boundary. He times the next delivery beautifully to beat the mid on fielder for another boundary.

MI 32/2 | Overs 5 | Smith 14*, Rohit Sharma 0*  OUT! Tendulkar 14 (12) Karthik 0 (2)

Double strike for Ishant Sharma! First he bowls a slower delivery which keeps a bit low and goes through Tendulkar’s defense and then dismisses Dinesh Karthik who played a loose shot to slice a length delivery to Karan Sharma at point. Skipper Rohit Sharma walks out earlier than he would have liked.

MI 31/0 | Overs 4 | Smith 14*, Tendulkar 14*

Dale Steyn is back to bowl to Sachin Tendulkar to a packed off-side field but the batting maestro hits Steyn for two boundaries on the leg side. The first one flicked precisely over the infield and the second over mid on. Steyn seems to be put off guard and he follows it up with a wide delivery. Tendulkar sighting the ball well on a flat wicket is not what Sangakkara would be glad about.

MI 19/0 | Overs 3 | Smith 14*, Tendulkar 4*

Tall man Ishant Sharma is brought into the attack. Tendulkar got brilliantly behind a short delivery but Akshath Reddy dives to his left to save three valuable runs. Ishant’s good start to the first half of his over is ruined by a no ball and a subsequent six of the free hit by Dwayne Smith. Poor length delivery to bowl on a free hit delivery, that. Ishant finishes the over with a dot ball.

MI 10/0 | Overs 2 | Smith 7*, Tendulkar 3*

Dale Steyn to Sachin Tendulkar! The big South African doesn’t seem too perturbed by the scorching heat. He steams in at usual pace and concedes just four runs.

MI 6/0 | Overs 1 | Smith 6*, Tendulkar 0*

Kumar Sangakkara starts with Karan Sharma and Dwayne Smith likes that. He welcomes the leg-spinner with a straight back shot over the bowler for a one-bounce boundary. Sharma does well to concede just two more runs in the over.

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 43rd match in the Indian Premier League 2013.

The crowds at Hyderabad will be delighted with that as they will get early glimpse of Sachin Tendulkar vs Dale Steyn. The pitch looks flat and even Hyderabad skipper Kumar Sangakkara wanted to bat first. It will be interesting to see what Dale Steyn can do on this wicket early on.

Its another day of bench warming for the million-dollar Glenn Maxwell as both teams remain unchanged.
