High-flying Chennai Super Kings host out-of-sorts Pune Warriors India in the 19th match of the Indian Premier League 2013 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Monday.
The Chennai side pulled off a thrilling last over finish against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday to go fourth in the points table while the Pune Warriors India are languishing at the bottom half of the table with just one win from four matches.
Pune will face a herculean task when they go up against MS Dhoni’s men who seem to have found their form after their victory over the RCB, their second of the tournament.

CSK had an uncharacteristic start to the season with a defeat to the Mumbai Indians at home but have regained ground with wins over Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Pune batsmen failed to put on a good show when they were thrashed by 41 runs at the Wankhede Stadium.
Up against a confident Chennai side, the visitors will depend heavily on Yuvraj Singh. Aaron Finch played well for his half-century against the Rajasthan Royals but was cleaned up by Mitchell Johnson in the first delivery in the next fixture. The Pune side seem to have missed a trick by benching Steven Smith, who was a revelation in last year’s IPL.. It should be interesting if he gets to play against Chennai. PWI will be without captain Angelo Mathews as the game will be played in Chennai, which gives them a good opportunity to unleash Smith.
The Chennai side has boasted of one of the best squads from the first season and has been the most consistent side in the history of the tournament. Their new recruit Chris Morris had a good all-round game against Bangalore. Picking up three wickets and holding fort at the end as Ravindra Jadeja took his side past home; Morris has earned himself a spot for a few games.

Looking at the form of both these sides, this game could end up rather one-sided in favour of the home team. But, T20 has always been full of surprises. A win for Chennai will boost their chances of finishing in the top four with ease while failure to secure all two points could see Pune Warriors India compete fiercely with the Delhi Daredevils for the wooden spoon this year.
