The Supreme Court has come down on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The Apex Court is conducting a hearing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013 spot-fixing and betting controversy. Supreme Court told the BCCI that they take the findings of the Mudgal committee as the “gospel truth” and also told them that they are “killing the game.”
PTI reported Supreme Court telling BCCI, “Cricket must be played in its true spirit and should remain a gentleman’s game.” About the spot-fixing scandal, it said, “If you allow these things to happen, then you are killing the game of cricket.”
The Supreme Court told the BCCI, “We take the findings of Justice Mudgal Committee’s report as gospel truth. Benefit of doubt should go in favour of game rather than any individual.”
