IPL 2013 spot-fixing controversy: Siddharth Trivedi admits taking money from bookies

Rajasthan Royals player and prosecution witness in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013 spot-fixing scandal Siddharth Trivedi on Thursday admitted to have taken money from bookies only to return it back in the fear of getting caught.

According to Zee News report, Trivedi told Delhi Police that he hadtaken Rs 3 lakh from bookies Sunil Bhatia and Deepak Sharma last year.

The spot-fixing scandal which broke out on May 16 this year had three of Trivedi’s Rajasthan Royals teammates – S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan involved in it.

A total of 26 people from various parts of the country have been arrested for alleged involvement in IPL spot-fixing.
