Mumbai: Jun 4, 2013

Bollywood actor Vindoo Dara Singh and former Chennai Super Kings’ boss Gurunath Meiyappan are seeking bail.

First Post reported that they have sought for bail as they are in judicial custody and are eligible for the same.
Earlier in the day, a court in the city rejected Mumbai Crime Branch’s plea to extend their custody. As a result, they were sent to judicial custody till June 14. Apparently, there were no grounds whereby their police custody could be extended.

A few days ago, a Mumbai Police official had said that Vindoo revealed that he was in touch with a top administrator in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Indian Premier League (IPL). Vindoo and that administrator had conversations dating back to 2011.

Meiyappan is the son-in-law of BCCI President N Srinivasan.
