The sale of tickets for the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches in Chennai was delayed by an hour. The sale of tickets, which was supposed to start at 10 AM IST on Wednesday, was delayed due to technical snag.
Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium will host 10 games in this year’s IPL, including the two playoffs and the eight home matches for the home team Chennai Super Kings.

On Tuesday, the IPL governing council decided that no Sri Lankan players, officials or backroom staff will be involved with IPL 6 action in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, due to anti-Lankan political unrest in the state. The BCCI also made it clear that the security of the players in other states will be crucial.

Legendary Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan was disappointed with the move. Muralitharan considers Chennai his second home where his wife belongs.

A total of 13 Sri Lankan players are contracted to play in this year’s IPL.
