Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) will look to maintain their terrific form when they come up against a struggling Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 18th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 tournament in Dubai on Monday. Kings XI have won all their matches so far in this tournament, and are currently the only unbeaten team of IPL 7. The Royal Challengers, on the other hand, have struggled with their batting in the last two matches. After starting the tournament well, they have lost two games on the trot. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, key batsmen for RCB, have failed to replicate their recent good form. While Yuzvendra Chahal and Varun Aaron have led an impressive RCB attack, the absence of a reliable spinner to back Chahal up has hurt Bangalore. Conversely, almost every aspect has been clicking for the Kings XI. Even when their batsmen failed in previous game, their bowlers rallied brilliantly to hand them a comfortable victory. The unheralded Akshar Patel has been their main spinner, while the young Sandeep Sharma was their Man of the Match in the last game. Based on current form, this should be a no-contest with KXIP pulling off a sweeping victory. But if the nature of Twenty20 (T20) cricket and the IPL have taught us anything, it is to never write off a possibility of a huge upset. RCB certainly have the ammunition to go all the way.
