IPL 2015, Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Sunrisers Hyderabad: Rain threat looms large in Bangalore

The city of Bangalore faced heavy showers on Monday ahead of the Royal Challengers Bangalore‘s (RCB) Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). This is RCB’s first home game of the IPL 2015. They began their campaign with a Chris Gayle powered victory against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens. SRH are coming off a defeat to Chennai Super Kings.

Damien Martyn, the former Australian batsman, who is now a commentator in the IPL tweeted saying that there has been rain in Bangalore. Dinesh Karthik, the India and RCB wicketkeeper-batsman, also tweeted a photo of the heavy rains in the area. Ajit Agarkar also tweeted a photo.

According to Weather.com there are predictions of heavy thunderstorms through the day. If it continues, we could have the first wash out. There could also be a possibility of a rain-reduced match. So far, the IPL matches have not faced any problems with rains. In the current summer season in India, there are very few showers and if a game is affected, then it is nothing but bad luck. The IPL is scheduled in a way that it ends before the onset of monsoon in June.
