IPL 2016 has witnessed series of injuries and the major chunk of cases have been found in Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS).  With RPS being the target this year, Amul as they are known to take dig at the current scenarios around the country, tried to show their support to RPS. It all started with their top order batsman Kevin Pietersen being ruled out due to calf injury in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) while chasing target of 186. It was during the same post match presentation skipper MS Dhoni did consider Pietersen’s injury a blessing and an opportunity for their pacers Albie Morkel or Mitchell Marsh. In a span of few days, Faf du Plessis was ruled out as well following a broken finger. RPS were in trouble with their opening batsman du Plessis also being ruled out with an injury.

Just when their middle-order batsman Steven Smith was catching up with the pace in IPL especially after his maiden T20 century against Gujarat Lions (GL), RPS faced yet another setback with Smith being ruled out as well with an injury. Just when they thought it would end there, Marsh, RPS pacer also opted out due to side strain. Fortunately, RPS have got the required replacement’s for Faf du Plessis and Pietersen on their side with Australia T20 batsman Usman Khawaja along with Australia’s T20 specialists George Bailey entered the squad in time, that did work wonders for RPS against Delhi Daredevils (DD) with Khawaja adding 30-odd runs on board.

RPS are now playing their match against RCB with skipper Virat Kohli winning the toss and electing to field first. RPS have so far added 60 runs for loss of 1 at the end of Powerplay.
