New Delhi: Following the successful hosting of the Indian Premier League (IPL) fan parks in various cities across the country every weekend, Lucknow, Gurgaon, Solapur and Warangal will host the fan parks for the double headers this weekend. The cities will screen the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) vs Delhi Daredevils (DD) on Saturday and then Sunday’s double header between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders taking on Gujarat Lions. “Over 100,000 fans have so far watched the VIVO IPL matches through the IPL Fan Park initiative. Bilaspur, Amritsar, Baroda, Meerut, Kangra, Nadiad, Saharanpur, Bhopal, Dehradun, Surat, Allahabad, Gwalior, Panipat, Nashik and Hubli have witnessed huge turnout and the response has been overwhelming,” the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a statement on Thursday. The fan parks are built in specifically selected open arenas and stadia throughout the country to provide a stadium-like experience to the residents of the cities that do not host the IPL matches. IPL 2016: KKR not taking any game for granted, says Gautam Gambhir

Earlier, after claiming a seven-run win over Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in their Indian Premier League ( IPL) clash last evening, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Gautam Gambhir has insisted his side will not take any game for granted despite climbing up to the top in the point table. The skipper (70) shared a huge 101-run partnership with Robin Uthappa (54) to propel his side to the target of 165 runs against Murali Vijay’s side. In reply, Kings XI failed to counter the hosts’ bowling attack and were restricted to 157 runs in their stipulated 20 overs at the Eden Gardens. Delighted by his side’s overall performance, Gambhir pointed out it is really important for the entire team to contribute if they want to be on the winning side in this tournament, reported ANI.
