After beating Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) on Friday in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) medium-fast bowler Kane Richardson is ecstatic. Richardson was impressive in the match as he took a three-wicket haul. According to the 25-year-old, he is very happy seeing his batsmen play. He also said that all that RCB needs to do is improve their bowling and fielding. Once they achieve this, they can be a very tough side in IPL 9. He added that this will be irrespective of where RCB play their matches because their batting has the capability to demolish the opposition on any pitch. In a conversation with Cricbuzz he said, “I am pretty happy to be on their team and I am pretty lucky to be able to sit in the change room and watch them play. Once we get our fielding and bowling right we are going to be a scary team no matter where we play. When Shane bowled the second last over he knew he had to get him (Perera) out because if he stayed on then they would probably have won the match.” FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Delhi Daredevils vs Mumbai Indians, IPL 2016, Match 17 at Delhi
“We all know what Shane Watson can do with the bat but he won us the game with that over, especially taking that wicket [Pereraâs]. He stuck to his plan of bowling, the wide yorker, which didn’t work in his previous over. That’s what class players do. He is one of the best T20 players and he won us the game by taking that wicket.” READ: Royal Challengers Bangalore pull off 13-run win over Rising Pune Supergiants, IPL 2016, Match 16 at Pune
Meanwhile, RPS opening batsman Ajinkya Rahane said, “As long as you’re letting AB take a single and getting him to the non-striker’s end, you’re doing a good job. The margin of error is very little against a batsman like him. You have to bowl in the right areas. I don’t think our bowlers bowled that bad today, I think his shots were just that good. He was reserve-sweeping and sweeping fast bowlers, which takes a lot of courage.”
