Australia’s all-rounder Shane Watson played his last international match against India in T20 World Cup 2016 that lead to Aussies exit from the tournament. Right after the tournament skipper Steven Smith held a press conference and said, “There are no fairytales in sport.” At one end there was Virat Kohli who was celebrating and then there was the 34-year-old saddened to end his journey on a low note. After the end of the tournament, Watson was seen enjoying family time with Lee Furlong and his children along with his cricket kit to prepare for IPL 2016 at Wonder Cricket Academy at Udaipur, reported on cricbuzz. While speaking about Watson, RCB head coach Daniel Vettori said, “We are all very excited to have Shane here. He is a prolific player and going by the conversations I have had with him, he is really excited to be at RCB. He was with Royals for a long time and enjoyed his time there. I think a change could be great for him. He’s coming to a new city with his family and from my perspective it makes it easy that they are with him.”

Out of the 78 matches played, he has garnered 2,372 runs and gained 61 wickets at an economy rate of 7.49. He has scored two centuries in IPL and aims to tally the same for RCB this year.
