IPL 2017: Bhuvneshwar Kumar keeps advising me on where to bowl, says Mohammed Siraj after Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) beat Gujarat Lions

The David Warner-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) took a sigh of relief after ensuring their berth in playoffs by beating Gujarat Lions (GL) in their final league stage match in the 10th edition of Indian Premier League. However, the foundation of victory was laid by local pacer Mohammed Siraj, who scalped four wickets by conceding only 32 runs. Two of his four wickets were of opener Ishan Kishan and skipper Suresh Raina. Kishan played brilliantly and scored 40-ball 61 and it was his dismissal, which inflicted the collapse of GL as from 111 for no loss, they were bowled out for 154. Full Cricket Scorecard: GL vs SRH, Match 53

His 4 for 32 earned him the Man of the Match award, which was a crucial match for his team and when asked about his most cherished wicket out of four during the post match ceremony, Siraj said, “I liked my fourth wicket the most. The wicket was a bit slow so I cut down the pace to prevent runs.” His fourth wicket was of Pradeep Sangwan, whom Siraj bowled a length ball with slow pace.

Siraj further credited his bowling partners Bhuvneshwar Kumar and young Siddarth Kaul and said, “It helps a lot to bowl with Bhuvi and Siddarth Kaul. Bhuvi keeps advising on where to bowl to which batsman.”

Despite ensuring their place in playoffs, SRH are still unsure of their position in top four. With this win, they are currently at second spot but their position can change with the result of next two crucial matches. If Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) clash ends in no result, then Gautam Gambhir-led side will take over the second position from SRH. And if that did not happens and KKR loses, then Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) have the chance to spoil SRH’s hope of keeping them at second spot by winning against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP).
