After Delhi Daredevils (DD) managed to chase over 200 in their previous match against Gujarat Lions (GL), one expected them to put up a similar show in the match against Mumbai Indians (MI), where they were set a 213-run target. But DD were bundled out for 66, handing MI a massive 146-run win. DD skipper Zaheer Khan believed that the target was gettable, but the partnership between Kieron Pollard and Lendl Simmons took the game away from his team. Simmons in his first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 top-scored with 66 off 43, but Pollard remained unbeaten on 63 off 35. With this win, MI have booked their place in the playoffs, however DD have an outside chance of making it. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Delhi Daredevils (DD) vs Mumbai Indians (MI), IPL 10 Match 45

Nothing much I can say [about the performance]. When I was on the field, I felt we started well with the ball and stuck to our plans but the partnership between Lendl [Simmons] and Pollard took the game away from us. Once it is over 200, the batting unit simply had to go. Today we couldn’t just get going. 190 was good, definitely close to 200 was possible. The track was good and I thought the dew would help us. Some days we can’t put finger at anything, Zaheer said after the match. READ: IPL 2017: DD crash to biggest defeat in history of IPL against MI in IPL 10, Match 45

Zaheer remained positive of qualification for the playoffs and vowed the DD will come all guns blazing for the next matches. We are going to stay positive, regroup as quickly as possible and we have a break before the next match which should help us. Play-offs is still possible, said the DD captain.
