Virat Kohli on Sunday rang the bell at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Kohli has thus joined the list of those who have rung the bell at the Eden Gardens, a practise which was started by former India captain Kapil Dev before the start of India s historic 250th Test against New Zealand last year. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) had installed the bell at the Eden Gardens before September 2016, to be rung to initiate the start of play before every game.
