IPL 2018 Auction: Gautam Gambhir returns to Delhi Daredevils (DD)

Delhi Daredevils (DD) have regained the services of Gautam Gambhir for INR 2.8 crores. Gambhir played for DD from 2008 to 2010. He then was taken over by KKR from 2011, making him the highest paid cricketer in the history of IPL then. Since he has been an integral part of the franchise.  He became the second highest run-scorer of the inaugural season with 534 runs from 14 matches. He was promoted to the post of captain of the DD for IPL 2010. At the end of the tournament he became the only player from DD to score more than 1000 runs in the IPL.

A total of 578 players including 360 Indians will be available in this year’s IPL auction that is being held at Bengaluru today and tomorrow. After 10 successful IPL editions, the teams will look forward to build their core once again. Expect a huge bidding war. Each team were given options to retain five players.

After a two-year exile, CSK and Rajasthan Royals RR are back in the fray.
