IPL 2018 Auction: Mitchell Starc sold to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for INR 9.4 crores

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) made their first purchase of the day by bagging the services of Mitchell Starc for INR 9.4 crores. Starc can put his searing deliveries to good use in the IPL after missing the previous edition due to ankle injury. Starc made his presence felt in 2014 and 2015 with RCB. Starc will could be challenge to his teammates David Warner and Steven Smith who have been retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals.

A total of 578 players including 360 Indians will be available in this year’s IPL auction that is being held at Bengaluru today and tomorrow. After 10 successful IPL editions, the teams will look forward to build their core once again. Expect a huge bidding war. Each team were given options to retain five players.
