Nepal’s spinning sensation, Sandeep Lamichhane has opened up about his IPL ambitions and desire to do well for his country in the upcoming ICC World Cricket League Division 2. Nepal is set to take on the likes of Oman, Canada, UAE and Kenya from February 6 to 16 in Namibia.

Lamichhane mentioned that he nearly missed the bus for the auction. According cricket.com.np, Lamichhane said: “I missed the set deadline for the auction. But all thanks to my agent and CAN ex-CEO Bhawana Ghimire, the problem was sorted out.”

He is also excited to share the stage with the biggest names in cricket:“I am happy that I am included in the list of world beaters but nothing is in my hand now. I am fully focused on my national team duty. The tournament holds a lot of importance for all of Nepali cricket. Our future rests in the outcome of this tournament so all of us are trying to bring out the best.”

Lamichhane was the second highest wicket-taker in the Under-19 World Cup 2016, picking 14 wickets that included a 5 for 27. His 5 for 27 against Ireland also included a hat-trick.
