Match 33 of the VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 sees Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) play host to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their reverse fixture. The match will be played at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. CSK have the psychological advantage over KKR, having won 4 games out of 7 at the stadium. In addition, MS Dhoni and co. had earlier defeated Dinesh Karthik’s side in Match 5, at Chepauk. CSK won that game by 5 wickets off the penultimate ball. KKR cannot afford more slip ups as things may get tight at the wee end of the league stage. They are currently at the fourth spot. CSK are the table-toppers.

CSK are coming on the back of a home win versus Delhi Daredevils (DD). Their batting lineup looks strong to take on any opposition. They aren’t a very good fielding side, but not below par as well. Their only hurdle remains in their bowling lineup. They have continued to concede aplenty and come to the captain’s rescue on limited occasions. KKR, on the other hand, are featuring in this contest post a win over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). KKR bowlers have also been expensive like CSK. Their fielding needs to be lifted up as pointed out by Karthik in his last match presentation. Nitish Rana’s fitness remains an issue for them; his loss would be a big blow. Rinku Singh could come in for him in the middle-order.
