RR were winning it, infact they were cruising towards it. And then the spinners turned it around. Rahane like always failed to shift gears. Sanju Samson got to his 50 but gave away his wicket. Prasidh Krihsna bowled very well in the death to take KKR to the Qualifier 2.

  • 10:16 PM IST

Samson reaches the landmark but gives away his wicket. Klaasen still in the middle can turn things around for KKR. Stuart Binny walks in, he has not had a good season so far. Is this his game to shine?

  • 10:04 PM IST

The spinners are turning the game here. Rahane was struggling to get Kuldeep away and ends up getting a bottom edge with the ball going directly to the bowler. A soft dismissal for him.

  • 9:52 PM IST

Rahane has held one end but has the run rate factor struck him again? He has had good starts previously as well but failed to change gears when needed or as the game progresses. With 74 required off 48 and 9 wickets in hand he can try to go for some shots here.

  • 9:33 PM IST

KKR do have managed to get the wicket they were looking for but failed to create pressure after that. Samson and Rahane are playing the bowlers well and picking up singles and doubles. They are certainly at the top here.

  • 9:14 PM IST

RR have had a good start with the bat and surprisingly Ajinkya Rahane has taken the charge when we were expecting Tripathi to do it. KKR in desperate search of wickets here.

  • 9:10 PM IST

Rajasthan are off to a good start. Rahane has shown positive intent. He has cut Russell for a six in the first over and followed it with a delightful flick in the next over. Rahul Tripathi, too, greeted Chawla with a cover drive for four in the third over. Rahane was beaten by a Chawla-googly and ruled out but Rajasthan reviewed and won the challenge. Rahane has now pulled the first ball of the fourth over from Prasidh Krishna for four.

  • 8:43 PM IST

Andre Russell has powered KKR to a competitive total of 169 here. When Russell gets going you do not want to be the bowler. With that power he can spoil your career. Even though he missed his half-century by a run he would be very happy with his knock of 49* off 25.

  • 8:20 PM IST

SIX! Not the way Karthik would have liked it but he will still consider it. 50 for him as well and he is on a roll here. He needs to play to the end here and take KKR to a good total with Russell in the other end.

  • 8:09 PM IST

OUT! Shubman Gill has played his part. He has steadied the innings for KKR maybe Jofra Archer was too good for him as he nicks one to keeper. This brings Andree Russell in the middle.

  • 7:51 PM IST

Shubman Gill walks in ahead of Andre Russell and a good decision indeed. This is exactly where Gill would have loved to bat, within 10 overs. He has looked stable for now can he be the hero of the night?

  • 7:39 PM IST

OUT! KKR supporters are going to hate the first word of last three updates. However, can’t help! Another caught and ball wicket for RR, this time by Shreyas Gopal who gets Lynn. Lynn was seen struggling as his stand in the middle gets over.

  • 7:22 PM IST

OUT! RR bowlers are going through the KKR batting line up brutally. First Gowtham and now Archer. Archer bowled a good last over even if he got a few wides down the leg. The left hander in the middle solved his problem but. Archer followed Rana as he hits it straight to the fielder.

  • 7:14 PM IST

OUT! Gowtham gets his second in his second over and it is Uthappa this time. What a pick Gowtham has been for the RR. The players are standing up for the replacement of big guns. Suddenly KKR’s deep batting line up seems shallow.

  • 7:07 PM IST

Sunil Narine smashes the first ball for a boundary tries to use his feet on the next but Klaasen is too quick behind the stumps to disturb the bails. Robin Uthappa is a good player of spin and is very strong on the leg side. Chris Lynn has previously been seen sweeping his spin troubles away.

  • 6:59 PM IST

Ajinkya Rahane rings the bell at Eden Gardens as the players take field. Chris Lynn is seen warming up with Sunil Narine who is just standing. That is the way he plays as well, just stands and deliver. Lynn will look to convert his 50’s into something big today.

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Rajasthan Royals Updates: Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of VIVO IPL 2018. We have headed to the Playoff stage. On Tuesday, we witnessed Chennai Super Kings (CKS) pulling off a remarkable heist against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to enter the tournament final. We expect another cracker of a match in the Eliminator on Wednesday where Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) clash at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Stay tuned to this place for the full updates and interesting stats tweets.

KKR and RR finished third and fourth respectively in the points table. While Kolkata reached to the safe zone of 16 points with their win over SRH last week, Rajasthan had to depend on other results for their progress. Luckily for them, everything fell in place.

KKR, definitely, start favourites for this contest. Not only are they playing at their home ground but also they will be facing an under strength RR. The absence of Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes is bound to hurt the Royals.

Overall, RR have a slight edge when it comes to head to head but that will count to nothing as in this edition, KKR have won both the matches. Both the sides are being mentored by two of the greatest cricketers. While Jacques Kallis is in-charge of Kolkata, Shane Warne, the man who led RR to a title win in 2008, is guiding the side.
