Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)’s bowling armoury is considered to be one of the most balanced ones in VIVO IPL 2018. Rashid Khan, Siddarth Kaul, Sandeep Sharma, Shakib Al Hasan, Mohammad Nabi make it a formidable unit. Despite Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s absence, SRH bowlers have come good. Kaul has led from the front. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals (RR) are to yet to click together when it comes to their batting. A lot has been dependent on Sanju Samson, leaving immense pressure on the lower-order. Jos Buttler, D’Arcy Short, Ajinkya Rahane, Ben Stokes have shown their calibre through cameos.

Like the match against Mumbai Indians (MI), Krishnappa Gowtham showed what he can do at the lower-order. Gowtham’s 11-ball 33* turned around RR’s fortunes. Gowtham, however, believes the shaky batting unit is set to tackle SRH’s powerful bowling: “Rajasthan Royals are much better prepared. We could see Mumbai Indians had a good start and they did not consolidate,” as quoted on Hindustan Times.

Top buys of this season, Ben Stokes and Jaydev Unadkat who are playing for RR, have not done much to prove all the money spent was worth it. Stokes has scalped just apiece while Unadkat has taken 3 wickets respectively. Gowtham backed the fast bowlers: “We have not clicked completely as a bowling unit. When it happens, we will do very well. We are not too concerned about the fast bowlers. All have experience and I am sure they will do well in upcoming games.”

Meanwhile, Gowtham is enjoying all the fame coming his way after his late blitz against MI in the previous game: “You get a little more recognition wherever you are going nowadays. It is a positive change. Not much has changed personally. I am enjoying this phase.”
