Mumbai Indians (MI) seem to not get to the right side of the thriller as their clash against Rajasthan Royals (RR) went up to the last-ball. In Match 21 of VIVO IPL 2018, Krishnappa Gowtham sizzled with his 11-ball 33 to see Rajasthan home. At the 14th over, RR were cruising to victory. At that stage the match did not look to end on a last-ball thriller. Jasprit Bumrah then triggered the collapse removing settled batsmen Sanju Samson (52) and Jos Buttler in succession.

Coming to Gowtham, MI under utilised the Karnataka cricketer who has warmed the bench in the entire 2017 IPL season. He, however, showed what they missed out on. RR required 38 to win off 14. 33 of those runs came off Gowtham. His show comprised of 4 fours and 2 sixes. He took Mustafizur Rahman for a ride with 10 runs followed by 8 runs off Bumrah. The final over saw him smashing Hardik Pandya’s yorkers to back-to-back boundaries, handing RR 3-wicket win.
