Match 29 of ongoing VIVO IPL 2018 will witness Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) host Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Bengaluru. A struggling RCB have so far won 2 and lost 2 games at home. As a result they are languishing at the sixth spot in the points table. Virat Kohli and co. are running against time to revamp their camp, and will hope for their reverse clash against KKR to change their fortunes. In the last tie between both sides, KKR had won by 4 wickets, chasing 177.

RCB’s last match was against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), where they lost despite posting 205 for 8. AB de Villiers smashed the CSK bowlers into pulp, and was ably supported by Quinton de Kock. Unfortunately, the bowlers failed as a unit: Pawan Negi, Corey Anderson, Washington Sundar and Mohammed Siraj all went for over 10 an over. Only Yuzvendra Chahal and Umesh Yadav were impressive. They have to bring Chris Woakes back, and may even consider Tim Southee.

On the other hand, KKR were off colours against Delhi Daredevils (DD). At Feroz Shah Kotla, Shreyas Iyer and Prithvi Shaw took on a lacklustre KKR bowling unit. Dinesh Karthik’s side have to look beyond their spin trinity of Sunil Narine, Piyush Chawla and Kuldeep Yadav; their pacers have been below par. Their fielding needs to improve as well.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Likely XI: Virat Kohli (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), AB de Villiers, Mandeep Singh, Washington Sundar, Pawan Negi, Tim Southee, Chris Woakes, Umesh Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Siraj

Kolkata Knight Riders Likely XI: Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Robin Uthappa, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik (c & wk), Andre Russell, Shubman Gill, Mitchell Johnson, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav

In overall head-to-head encounters, KKR lead RCB (11-9). The recent clashes have gone in favour of visitors. Both teams are coming off defeats, and will produce another high-scoring encounter at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
