Sanju Samson‘s scores in VIVO IPL 2018 read 49, 37 until Sunday’s afternoon game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). A star-studded side like RCB needed a Samson taste to shut them at their backyard. Samson’s special unbeaten knock of 45-ball 92 came in a timely fashion, especially being Malyalam New Year (Vishu), down South. This is also the highest individual score in 2018 IPL so far. Samson gave nightmare to RCB bowlers, particularly Umesh Yadav who went for 59 runs from his quota of 4 overs.

Samson is currently the Orange Cap holder with 178 runs from 3 matches and there is more to come. A happy captain believes, Samson can return to the the Indian team set up: “The way Sanju batted was incredible. It was all about getting that one big partnership. We know when you score 200-plus, opponents will come hard. Sanju is a great talent, good to have him in our team. He’s the future for India and we back him.”

Samson has played a T20I for Indian in 2015 against Zimbabwe that was lead by Rahane. He scored 19 runs at strike rate of 79.17. From Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to Rajasthan Royals (RR) and playing for India in between, Samson has come a long way.
