Shanmugam, CEO of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), announced that the franchise has chosen Bhuvneshwar Kumar as Kane Williamson's deputy for forthcoming IPL 2018. The news has come hours after Williamson was named SRH captain following BCCI's embargo on David Warner due to ball-tampering scandal. The 2016 IPL champions will kickoff their campaign against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in match 4 of IPL 11 at Hyderabad on May 9, Monday.

We are happy to announce that Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be the vice-captain of SunRisers Hyderabad for IPL 2018 K. As spearhead of the pace battery, Bhuvi has bailed the team out and stood firm in pressure situations with the ball in hand. He was the Purple Cap holder in both 2016 and 2017, accounting for 49 wickets combined.

However, he will have to burden extra responsibility this time. Along with Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan, Bhuvi will have a task in hand to take the franchise forward and aim for their second title. It won't be easy without Warner, banned from IPL 2018 due to his presence in the ball-tampering row in Australia's ongoing South Africa tour.
