SRH WIN! A thriller here at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. MI gave their all, but an uppish flick from Billy Stanlake, with the field up, rescues SRH. They were determined to choke, but Deepak Hooda’s calmness and Stanlake’s finishing stroke assists them in pulling off a heist.

MI, defending champions, remain winless in the tournament. Got to feel for them. They have now lost two nail-biters.
  • 11:44 PM IST

Errr……Leading edge, and it JUST falls short of Jasprit Bumrah. Hooda crosses, and the equation reads 1 off 1; 1 wicket in hand.

  • 11:43 PM IST

2 off 2 guys. One wicket remains. Hooda on strike.

  • 11:39 PM IST

SIX! Hooda lashes onto one offering lot of width and gets the first maximum for SRH.

SRH need 4 off 4. One wicket in hand.
  • 11:27 PM IST

YES, BUMRAH CAN! He gets two in two. Yusuf went for a pull, couldn’t find any elevation. Rashid Khan, MI’s tormentor, edged a fuller delivery to depart for 0. Game wide open once again.

  • 11:22 PM IST

Deepak Hooda and Yusuf Pathan have batted sensibly. With the required run-rate not climbing high, the duo are aware to just nudge the ball around and walk closer to the total. So far, so good.

SRH need only 13 off 16 balls. Can Bumrah do something special?
  • 11:08 PM IST

Rohit righly going for the kill. With five overs remaining, he is resorting to the likes of Fizz and Bumrah. Be ready for loads of knuckle balls and off cutters.

    SRH 122-5.
  • 10:56 PM IST

OUT! Markande finishes his quota of overs and Shakib drags one onto the stumps. A lazy shot, and SRH continue to struggle. What is the matter? They just need to play out their overs for a win.

    SRH 107-5 (13).
  • 10:48 PM IST

SRH have lost the plot, and have only themselves to blame. A needless stroke from Manish Pandey, and Mayank Markande gets another wicket to his name.

Btw, he has replaced Siddarth Kaul in the Purple Cap holder’s list.
  • 10:40 PM IST

OUT! Dhawan falls too. The left-hander went for a sweep, but caught the deep square leg fielder in Jasprit Bumrah. This match is surely alive now.

SRH 77/3. Btw, Markande strike again.
  • 10:36 PM IST

A review from MI, and another successful one. A little flick off Williamson’s blade and Ishan Kishan was confident of an edge. He convinced Rohit for a review, and SRH lose another wicket. Fizz strikes, but more a wicket for Kishan.

    Williamson gone for 6 (4).
  • 10:33 PM IST

Mayank Markande continues to deliver. An opening this for MI? The youngster traps Saha lbw for 22.

SRH still cruising at 73-1 (7.5)
  • 10:24 PM IST

After 6 overs, SRH are 56 for no loss. Dhawan 34*, Saha 21*.

  • 9:56 PM IST

Wriddhiman Saha and Shikhar Dhawan open the innings for SRH. Should be another easy ride for the home side.

  • 9:44 PM IST

Rashid’s economical overs, Sandeep and Siddarth’s two wickets apiece strangle Mumbai to only 147 for 8 in 20 overs. Another Dhawan-show on cards?

  • 9:28 PM IST

    Rashid Khan 4-0-13-1. Hey, modern-era!!!

  • 9:26 PM IST

OUT! Cutting is beaten by the wrong’ un off Rashid. Just too good.

  • 9:24 PM IST

FOUR! Suryakumar Yadav gets one right, and takes MI to 129 for 5 after 17. How many will Yadav and Cutting add to the scoreboard?

  • 9:22 PM IST

Btw, Siddhart Kaul is the Purple Cap holder now. He replaces Shane Watson at the top. Excellent.

  • 9:14 PM IST

SIX! Suryakumar creates ample room and deposits one big into the stands off Shakib.

  • 9:13 PM IST

OUT! A nothing shot from Pollard, and Stanlake gets a big wicket in form of Pollard 28 (23).

  • 9:08 PM IST

Pollard is keeping the scoreboard moving at a brisk rate now. A straight six, followed by a neat shot to the fence, using Stanlake’s pace, has taken MI to 110-4 in 14.4 overs.

  • 9:04 PM IST

SIX! Enough width on offer, and Pollard middles it completely. This was coming after five dots in Rashid’s over. How will Shakib respond?

  • 8:59 PM IST

A slow yet handy partnership brewing between Kieron Pollard and Suryakumar Yadav in the middle. MI are 87 for 4 (12).

  • 8:53 PM IST

FOUR! A few chats between Rashid and Pollard, and the Caribbean player gets one right.

  • 8:51 PM IST

At halfway stage, MI are 78 for 4. They paid the price for playing too many strokes, and getting deceived by the pace and bounce of the wicket. SRH, despite being sloppy in the field, are on top with 4 scalps, and they richly deserve them. What a bowling attack this is. Remember, Bhuvi is not playing tonight.

  • 8:43 PM IST

OUT! Krunal Pandya expected it to turn a little bit more, but Shakib deceives him. A sitter for skipper Williamson at short covers. MI 72-4 (8.5).
