Kings XI Punjab were one of the busiest franchises at the IPL Auction 2019 on Tuesday. They secured two of the biggest signings of the Indian Premier League (IPL), first bagging Tamil Nadu mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy for a whopping Rs 8.4 crore and then roped in Prabhsimran Singh for Rs 4.8 crore.

The Preity Zinta-owned side failed to make it to the playoffs last despite the presence of big names in the squad – Chris Gayle and Yuvraj Singh – to name a few. They lost seven out of their eight games to finish at the penultimate position. As a fallout of that result, KXIP released as many as 11 players ahead of the IPL Auction 2019 and traded Marcus Stoinis for Mandeep Singh.
