Royal Challengers Bangalore won their third match in a row to move off the last spot on the IPL 2019 points table and keep their playoff hopes alive, after beating Kings XI Punjab by 17 runs in match 42 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday. This latest win over KXIP has taken RCB to eight points, which leaves then at seventh spot and pushes Rajasthan Royals down to last. Spurred by AB de Villiers' unbeaten 82 off 44 balls, RCB surged to 202/4 and KXIP could reply with 185/7 in 20 overs. RCB need to win all their remaining matches and hope other results go their way, if they want to qualify for the IPL playoffs.
