MS Dhoni has won the toss and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have elected to field against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 25th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday. (IPL 2019, RR vs CSK: FOLLOW LATEST UPDATES)

CSK have made two changes to their playing XI as Mitchell Santner and Shardul Thakur replaced Harbhajan Singh and Scott Kuggeleijn. RR, meanwhile, have received a big boost as Sanju Samson is back in the playing XI. In addition to Samson, RR have made two more changes to the team with Riyan Parag making his debut and Unadkat back in the playing XI.

Dhoni said the wicket in Jaipur is “good” and defending is “tough”” on a “very fast” outfield. The CSK skipper also highlighted the need of improvement in the team’s performances. (ALSO READ: Five things to look out for when Rajasthan meet Chennai)

“We’ll bowl first. The wicket remains good over here. It’s tough to defend here and the outfield is very fast,” said Dhoni.

“There are plenty of areas to improve. I feel fielding is important, the awareness needs to be there. Batting and bowling is something we have done well,” added Dhoni.

Rahane said his side would have wanted to bowl first as well. The RR skipper said that his team will need to play good cricket.

“We were looking to bowl first. Looks a different wicket, looks really good. Overall, we need to play good cricket. I’m not sure, it’s on and off, not sure about the dew. It’s about playing freely,” said Rahane.

“Sanju is fit and back. Riyan Parag makes his debut and Unadkat is back,” added Rahane.

The last time when these two sides faced each other, Dhoni stole the show with an unbeaten 75 off 46 balls to set up an eight-run win for CSK. (ALSO READ: IPL 2019: Rajasthan Royals eye payback against table-topper Chennai Super Kings)

While RR will be keen to avoid another defeat at the hands of three-time IPL champions, a win in tonight’s game will take the defending champions four points clear of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who are occupying the second spot in the points table. (FULL POINTS TABLE)
