IPL 2024: MS Dhoni expected to Move Up the Batting Order ? Ambati Rayudu decodes CSK’s skipper strategy

Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu believes it is extremely improbable that MS Dhoni would go up the order for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Dhoni, 42, is nearing the conclusion of his playing career, but he has improved his fitness and skill to withstand the demands of high-intensity encounters.

Dhoni just returned to batting in the nets and is in better shape than before. One of the viral videos on social media shows the veteran blasting a no-look six down the ground off a left-arm spinner.

“With Dhoni bhai, you never know. But knowing him and knowing what happened in the last few seasons, I am sure he will promote a youngster there. He may promote himself a number or two up, but not in the top order,” Rayudu told India Today in a press conference on Star Sports.

Dhoni has continued to play with the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. Despite being past his prime, Dhoni is still an important player of the CSK squad. Last year, he guided them to their sixth IPL triumph, defeating the Titans in an exciting final at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

Dhoni will also become the second CSK player to reach 5000 runs in T20s, behind Suresh Raina. Fans recently visited Chepauk to witness Dhoni train, and the atmosphere is anticipated to be electric when he comes out in the IPL opener.
