SunRisers Hyderabad is poised to change its captain ahead of the 2024 IPL season, according to Cricbuzz report. The 17th season of IPL will begin on March 22. Aiden Markram, who captained SRH in 2023, is anticipated to be fired as captain before of the competition, with Australia captain Pat Cummins taking over, according to reports. It is worth recalling that Australia defeated India in both the World Test Championship and Cricket World Cup finals last year, led by Cummins.
If this claim is accurate, it will mark another significant shift in IPL captaincy. In December of last year, the five-time champion Mumbai Indians replaced Rohit Sharma as captain with Hardik Pandya.

Former New Zealand left-arm bowler James Franklin is expected to replace Dale Steyn as Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowling coach in the 2018 IPL, which begins on March 22.
Steyn, a former South African fast bowler who took over as SRH bowling coach in 2022, has asked the organisation to give him a vacation this season for personal reasons.
“We are in talks with him (Franklin) as Dale Steyn will not be available for this season,” an IPL source told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
Franklin will reunite with his old colleague Daniel Vettori, who was named head coach of SRH following the IPL 2023 season.
They previously worked together with Middlesex in county cricket and Birmingham Phoenix in the Hundred. Between 2001 and 2013, Franklin played 31 Tests, 110 One-Day Internationals, and 38 T20I for New Zealand.
