The official word is that the match has been abandoned due to a power outage caused by a significant technical failure in the area which caused one of the light towers to switch off. The BCCI regrets the inconvenience caused to the in-stadium attendees.

Reports suggest that the game has been called off due to security reasons and that the IPL authorities have directed the teams to exit the HPCA Stadium. We are still awaiting an official statement.
