Shreyas Iyer also unhappy with the loss:
After facing a defeat in the final, Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer was no different then Preity Zinta, he was equally dis-satisfied with how the team failed to secure their maiden IPL title. However, he expressed his being happy with all the players and their performances throughout the tournament.
“he way our boys came up to the occasion, the way we cherished, it wasn’t immaculate but lot of credit goes to the management, the support staff and each and every person who has participated and contributed. The way the owners supported us was also amazing. Considering the last game against MI, I personally felt that 200 was a par score. They bowled brilliantly, especially Krunal, he carries a lot of experience, he has done it over a period of time. I believe that was the turning point. I am very proud of each and every individual who has participated in this team,” Shreyas said at the post-match presentation.
Even though Punjab Kings could not manage to win their maiden IPL trophy, they still are filled with strong players and youngsters filled with enthusiasm for the game. This year might not have been for them, but the franchise will surely aim to grab the trophy next year.
