Australian star all-rounder, Glenn Maxwell has been to sold to Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) for INR 6 crores in Indian Premier League (IPL) 7 auction.

The bid for Maxwell started at the base price of a crore. Rajasthan Royals (RR) started off after a lot of reluctance, and Delhi Daredevils (DD) followed suit. Then Mumbai Indians (MI) step in, and the price soared to two crores.

Rajasthan opted out, but the Delhi-Mumbai tussle continues till the price reached 4.5 crores — at which time Delhi opted out.

Punjab then went for Maxwell at a 5-crore price-tag. The Mumbai-Punjab tussle continued till 6 crores: Mumbai did not persist any further, and they did not have any ‘Right to Match card’ left.
