The biggest event of the year is the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) Auction is scheduled on December 16 in Abu Dhabi. However, 350 players will feature at the occasion.

Earlier, 1355 players had registered for the auction but the BCCI finalised the list after consulting with all the franchises. This full list was shared with the teams to review. According to a Cricbuzz report, the final list of the includes players. There is one name that surprises all of us. South African star player Quinton de Kock, who has also been included in the IPL auction 2026 list.

South African star player Quinton de Kock wasn’t included in the initial list. However, his name was added later in the list based on the franchise’s advice. He is ranked third in the list of wicketkeeper-batsmen.

After Quinton de Kock, there are more star Sri Lankan players added in the list. The cricketers Trevin Mathews, Binura Fernando, Kusal Perara and Dinuth Welalage have also been included in the list.

According to the BCCI, the players auction will begin with the capped players. Batsmen, all-rounders, wicketkeeper-batsmen and also fast bowlers and spinners. After their bids, the auction will be placed on uncapped players.

The BCCI will start the fast acceleration round after player number 70, who is Afghanistan’s star player Wahidullah Zadran. Players from number 70 to 350 will be taken up quickly. However, after this, franchises will share the names of the players according to their requirements of those who were not shown or went unsold.
