IPL players forced victim to drop molestation case against Luke Pomersbach

The victim of the molestation case involving Luke Pomersbach said that she was threatened by the Indian Premier League (IPL) players to drop the case against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) player.

“I want Luke to be punished,” she said

Describing the incident, she said, “Luke followed us to our room. He came inside. When I asked him to leave, he molested me. When my fianc intervened and asked him to leave, he punched him repeatedly.”

“The hotel management never called the police. I called the police myself. The hotel management did not give any medical assistance either,” she added.

Pomersbach was produced before Patiala House court on Friday.

RCB owner Vijay Mallya has clearly said that Pomersbach won’t play for the Bangalore team if he is held guilty in the case.

Pomersbach was also taken to the RML hospital for a medical examination.

The official statement of Delhi Police state that, “A US national, staying at Hotel Maurya, was molested by Luke Pomersbach, an Australian player of RCB when they were partying in her room. When her fiance Sahil intervened he too was boxed by Luke. A case under Sections 354, 323, 454 and 511 IPC registered at PS Chanakya Puri.”

Rajiv Shukla reacted to the incident saying, “IPL is not responsible for a player’s behaviour. There was no official party hosted by the IPL. It’s the behaviour of an individual, let the police handle it.”

“We will wait for the report from the police and then react,” he was quoted saying by ibnlive.in.com.

Luke Pomersbach has been released on interim bail.(PTI)
