Caribbean cricketers Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo have been picked by Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL) team Melbourne Renegades for the upcoming season. READ: Chris Gayle: IPL great way for young players to kick-start their career

The two West Indies cricketers Gayle and Bravo, who play for Southern Indian teams, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), are a hit among the fans world over, and the Australians will only hope they are able to continue their same performance. Both Gayle and Bravo will play for Melbourne Renegades for the entire BBL season, during which the West Indies cricket team will also be touring Australia.

Talking about their signing, Renegades’ skipper Aaron Finch told Cricket Australia (CA) official website, “It’s huge to sign Chris Gayle. He’s someone who has dominated this format over a long period of time.”

“Along with AB (de Villiers), there is not many of them in the same bracket. He’s the world’s best I think. He dominates a game; he can win a game by himself in very limited time. To have signed someone like him to open the batting with is going to be a huge bonus for the Renegades but also the fans that are going to get to see cricket’s biggest hitter at Etihad stadium,” Finch added.
