Ireland announce ODI against West Indies and tri-series involving Bangladesh, New Zealand

Ireland will take on West Indies at home in a one-off One-Day International on September 13. Ireland will then travel to England to play a two-match ODI series for the very first time. Ireland have also confirmed a tri-series involving Bangladesh and new Zealand later in May 2017. This will be the first time Ireland will play West Indies since beating them in the ICC World Cup 2015. It will also put current West Indies coach against his former side. “I’m really looking forward to bringing the West Indies team to Ireland,” said Simmons. “I had eight great years there as coach and made some lasting friendships as well as winning trophies. The tri-series will be a preparation for New Zealand and Bangladesh to prepare for the Champions Trophy 2017, scheduled to begin from June 1 in England. New Zealand will face Bangladesh on May 17 and Ireland will play Bangladesh for the second time in the series on May 19. Ireland’s final game will be against New Zealand on May 21, with the last game of the series scheduled to be played between Bangladesh and New Zealand on May 24.
