Sep 10, 2014
Scotland batsman Richie Berrington reached his sixth One-Day International (ODI) half-century in the second ODI against Ireland at The Village, Dublin, on Wednesday. He came in ata stage when the Scottish were struggling at 11 for three. Since then he played sensibly but kept on losing partners at the other end. The Josh Davey came into bat after the fifth wicket’s fall. Davey supported him from the other end and he too is playing well to keep the scoreboard ticking.
Earlier, Ireland bowlers have come hard upon the Scotland batsmen. Half of the Scottish side has been sent back to the pavilion, courtesy — a fiery spell from Max Sorensen. Craig Young too picked up a wicket. The Irish bowlers ran through the Scottish top order. They utilised the overcast condition and the opening bowlers were right on the money from the very first ball. They bowled good line and length and kept on picking up wickets at regular intervals. Scotland were struggling at 55 for five after 17 overs.
