Madhiya Vanakkam! Welcome to Cricket Country’s live cricket coverage of the second One-Day International (ODI) between Sri Lanka and Ireland. Pramod Ananth will be bringing you live updates from the clash taking place on Saturday. Today’s clash will take place at The Village, Dublin and the visitors are leading the series by 1-0. Their win in the last match would have given them some confidence after a Test series loss to England and they will look to win the 2-match series against Ireland today. The 76-run win through Duckworth Lewis (DL) saw plenty of superb performances from Sri Lanka and Ireland collapsed soon after looking like they were up for the task. Nonetheless, they will look to play better cricket and try to turn things around in the second ODI. LIVE CRICKET SCORECARD: Ireland  vs  Sri Lanka , 2nd ODI match at Dublin

TOSS UPDATES: Ireland team win toss, opt to field.

Sri Lanka would have been happy to see their middle-order play the way they did in the first ODI. Dinesh Chandimal’s century along with valuable contributions from captain Angelo Mathews and Dasun Shanaka lower down the order took them to a big score. Then Shanaka’s 5-wicket haul on his debut would have made the skipper and the selectors proud as well. They could though still try out different things before they head to play the 5-ODI series against England. A change in the batting order, or a a tactical cahnge to bring in a player might happen. Chances of playing Farveez Maharoof are possible.

Ireland on the other hand would want to give in a better performance this time around. Captain William Porterfield was anchoring the inning swell before he got out. Kevin O’Brien played well too. Other than that the batsman failed to make a mark.  Among the bowlers too, only Boyd Rankin was economical as well as among the wickets. Therefore, Irealnd will really have to play out of their skin to cause an upset.
