Ishant Sharma has added the misery on Sri Lanka getting Lahiru Thirimanne dismissed for a duck and the very next ball he directed a short ball at Dhammika Prasad and Prasad was stuck in his crease, not having enough time to react. He tried to fend the ball away but the ball got him on the fingers and in spte of the glove padding, Prasad seemed to be in immense pain. He walked out retired hurt, taking the blow on his left hand and he is not likely to bat again this innings. Live cricket scorecard: India vs Sri Lanka, 3rd Test at Colombo (SSC)

Thirimanne was dismissed with a back of length delivery outside off which he failed to react to quickly and committed the mistake of pushing at it late. Having not played with soft hands, the ball took the edge and offered KL Rahul a low catch which he took faultlessly. Ishant has been rewarded for some really good bowling through the morning. Sri Lanka were reeling at 48 for six at time of the wicket, which was effectively 48 for seven since Prasad most probably won’t bat again.  Sri Lanka are in dire straits and already a loss is looking imminent for them. The only recognised batsman at the crease now is Kusal Perera and Sri Lanka will be praying for him to bat well with the tail.
