India head into the lunch break on Day Two of the three-day warm-up game between India and Sri Lanka Board President XI which started on August 6, 2015 in a superb position. India were in a decent position at the start of play but lost wickets early to get bowled out for a score of 351. Indians played an hour on the second morning before they got out bowled out trying to go for quick runs. Ishant Sharma then rocked the hosts taking five wickets for just four runs in 21 balls  to reduce them to 10 for the loss of five wickets. The hosts will not be happy with the way their batsmen played Ishant. Three of the five wickets to fall were of players who have been regular in the national side for sometime now. India will want to finish the innings early and get batting as soon as possible.

Earlier, India lost wickets in a flurry earlier in the day, with Kasun Rajitha taking five for . India will be happy with their work though on a greenish deck. It was the 134-run stand between Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara that steadied India after the middle order had collapsed. Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul gave India an ideal start, adding 108 runs before the Rajitha struck India. Rahul missed out on his fifty and Rohit Sharma did not last long. Virat Kohli came in and had a troubled time, he was bowled off a no ball as well. He was eventually caught trying to go after one outside off. India were in trouble at 133 for the loss of four wickets but then Rahane scored a brilliant 109. Dhawan earlier scored his 27th First-Class half-century. Rahane  retired on his overnight score of 109 and wickets then fell in a flurry for India.
