Yashasvi Jaiswal missed his chance to score a double century after getting run out for 175 on Day 2 of the second Test against the West Indies. The run-out happened because of a mix-up with Shubman Gill. Jaiswal hit the ball toward mid-off and quickly ran for a single, but Gill didn’t respond. Jaiswal tried to run back to his crease but was caught short by a direct throw, ending his superb innings.

Jaiswal’s run-out has sparked debate among fans and experts. Some believe Shubman Gill should have responded to the call, while others think it was Jaiswal’s mistake. Legendary cricketer Anil Kumble also weighed in, saying the blame lies with Jaiswal. According to Kumble, even if Gill had run, Jaiswal might not have made it to the non-striker’s end in time. He also pointed out that there was some confusion over whether the wicketkeeper collected the ball cleanly, but the umpire chose not to refer the decision upstairs.

“It was Yashasvi Jaiswal’s fault. He wouldn’t have made it even to the non-striker’s end because it went straight to the mid-off fielder,” he said. “There was absolutely no chance. The only doubt was whether the keeper had full control of the ball when the bails came off. But the umpire didn’t even refer it to the third umpire, and that to me was a bit of a surprise,” said Kumble on JioHotstar.
