Jaipur Premier League to begin on Saturday

All prominent cricketers from Rajasthan will be seen in action in the Jaipur Premier League set to start on Saturday.

The six franchises have doled out more than Rs 25 lakh to hire 12 cricketers in each team.

Former India under-19 captain Ashok Menaria and his Rajasthan Royals teammates Pankaj Singh and Dishant Yagnik will be the stars of the tournament.

Prominent cricketers like Menaria, Pankaj, Vineet Saxena, Yagnik, Rohit Jhalani and Rashmi Ranjan Parida, who played a big role in making Rajasthan Ranji Champions in successive seasons, are the icon players in each of the six teams and command a fee of Rs 80,000.

The state category players have a salary cap of Rs 25,000 while the open category was capped at Rs 10,000.

The six teams in fray are Tigers, Mustangs, Rhinos, Lions, Panthers and Kangaroos. (PTI)
