James Faulkner became the fastest Australian cricketer to score a century in One-Day Internationals (ODI) when he reached the mark off his 57th delivery against India in the seventh match of the series at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Saturday.

His record is currently the 10th fastest in the world.

The current record is held by Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi who reached the three-figure mark in 37 deliveries against Kenya in 1996.

In a match where several records were broken, Rohit Sharma became the third batsman to reach a double century in ODIs.
