James Pattinson also picked up teh same number of wikcets with removing Darren Bravo, West Indies lone warrior of the match to end their innings. Jerome Taylor followed back to the pavilion after Kemar Roach in the second session. Lyon has been at the top of his form in the ongoing series, his wicket-taking has seemed to be an effortless process which is really good news for Australia. Lyon got the line and length perfect, there was no way Taylor could not get uncomfortable. He tried to play it while he managed only an inside edge into the gloves of Peter Nevill behind the wickets. That wicket left West Indies with one wicket to spare and a huge trail ahead of them.

Despite dominating the visitors outright, Australia made just one early breakthrough after the Lunch session before striking back towards the end of the day’s second session. Kemar Roach was the next dismissal after Carlos Brathwaite was dismissed just before the sides went for lunch. Roach and Bravo’s stand lasted for 12.1 overs adding another 42 runs to the board before the former was dismissed by Pattinson in the 84th over. Pattinson trapped him leg before wicket to leave the visitors once again in an inconsolable position.

A straight ball of a perfect length from Pattinson hit Roach straight which was definitely was hitting the inside part of the leg stump. Despite the dismissal seeming a plumb, Roach asked for a review. However the decision remained the same, he had to walk off the field. LIVE CRICKET SCORECARD: Australia vs West Indies 2015-16, 2nd Test at Melbourne, Day 3

Earlier, Brathwaite who is his playing his first Test for West Indies had a rough start to the day after he sustained a nasty blow to the helmet off a James Pattinson bouncer in the 46th over. He was clean bowled by Pattinson a few deliveries later, but was given a fresh lease of life as the ‘Man of the Match’ from the first Test had overstepped, granting the debutant a fresh lease of life. Brathwaite made full use of the second chance to make his debut a memorable one with a half-century before getting dismissed by Lyon.
